I got to have a session with Emma this past Friday. Emma turned 2 in May and we had to get some delayed birthday shots of her. I have know Emma’s family for years and I love this little girl!! She and my little girl loves to get together and play and I was so excited when her mom asked me to take her pictures. I think she’s just so cute and has such an innocent look. She’s not the easiest subject I have photographed and her mom and I had to work really really hard for our pictures…I guess that’s how it should be when photographing 2 year olds:)
Anyway, here’s some of the pictures I love from the session. I hope you like themas much as I do.

I always have to include a movement shot because I love those of children. I love how she’s twirling around for me. It’s the perfect way of capturing childhood.

My little girl went location scouting with me for a few minutes today for my session tomorrow. Don’t you think this location will be perfect for my shoot tomorrow? I think it will be beautiful.

I got to see this really fun family this evening. I did some pictures for the little girl right before Christmas and she has gotten so big since that time. Wow, it reminds me of how much time flies. It was my first time meeting her 2 big sisters and I was so lucky to get to photograph the whole family this time. It was not a good evening for photography…it was drizzling a little and really really dark, but we made it work as well as we could and I am so glad we didn’t cancel. The whole family is just so much fun and I really had a great time. I love my job:)
Anyway, aren’t they just such a gorgeous family?
I hope you like your sneak peak.

Isn’t she such a beautiful girl? She has such a great personality and it really shows in her pictures.

She was such a cutie and I love her smile…just love it. It makes me smile.

I always have to show at least one serious one and this is the one for today. I really love how it turned out.

You know I’m all for families having fun and this sequence just makes me smile. Let me add that no one was hurt while doing this even though there was a fall:) The girls were going to run as fast as they could and stop to give hugs. It started of good…..both girl are running.

Ooooops, she ran a little to far and…..

A little fall happened. She got right up and luckily was fine.

This is how it should have ended the first time.

I was so excited when Jake’s mother asked me earlier this year to take his picture and we finally were able to schedule his session. Even though the session was at 8:30 this morning it was so hot. We tried to stay in the shade as much as possible and got in the car for a little ac when we drive from place to place. I told Heather that I had no idea how this session would go…I never know what to expect from 2 year olds even though I have lots of experience dealing with my own little girl. She had packed some favorite toys, snacks and juice and we pretty much didn’t use any of it. I thought he would like the rocks and tree’s in the first location and I was right. He had the biggest smiles while arranging the rocks and toughing the branches. He’s just so so so cute and he has the most amazing eyes. They can light up a room.

Here is some of my favorite’s from today. I hope you like your sneak peak.

Look at his eyes, they just absorb light. I told you they were amazing.

He was really really wanting his mom to go with him on the steps. Look at his little sad face. I think it’s so cute.

I got to hang out with these two 7 year old twins on Sunday and I have to say that not only are they really really handsome, but they are funny too. They had so many ideas for pictures they wanted to try out and they kept cracking me up (and I edited some extra ones just for you guys that I will have in your gallery when it’s ready). I loooove funny kids. They make my job extra fun and it keeps me on my toes. We tried out several locations even though it was unbelievably hot that day and there was not really any complaining from any of the kids.
Anyway, I loved meeting you guys and I hope you like your sneak peak.

I have a serious girl so I really like serious faces as well. Isn’t he handsome?

Did I mention they had the best smiles? I know mom really wanted some smiles and she promised them a possible prize if she liked their smiles.

I have to some of the fun shots we took as well. I love shots of kids in motion so I had to include some running ones. Here’s how it went….

This one seriously crack me up. You might hate me for this one one day. I asked them to come up with something and this is what they gave me. Mom kept saying “do you have to stick out your butt so much?”. This one makes me laugh!!!

We have been so busy at my house with my parents visiting for the past month and dealing with my mother in law being diagnosed with cancer that I hardly have been taking any pictures at all. It’s been nice to be off, but I missed not taking much or editing much of anything. Since school ended we have also been to Atlanta 2 times, once for a wedding and once for six flags, and on a cruise to Eastern Caribbean which also added to the feeling of being away from home for so long. Anyway, I’m back now and I had to take my little girl out for a quick photo shoot this afternoon. I have to say that she was such a great model for me today which is something she’s normally not. She even really got the concept of bribing for the first time…she gave me eye contact and stood still for a piece of chocolate. I’m ok with a serious face and eye contact, no smiles needed to make me happy:) The shoot was absolutely worth 2 pieces of dark chocolate and 2 bug bites. Maybe now that she’s closer to turning 3 she will give me an easier time when it comes to taking pictures. Ohhh, I hope this is true:)

I have to say I love to be a photographer!!! I love to photograph new families and I always end up having fun..always!! Yesterday I got to hang out with these cuties while visiting several locations in the neighborhood. The little brother was not sure he wanted to get his picture taken at first and I got lots of serious faces, but after some time he was having a fun time as well. She was a model the whole time…. she showed me dance/ballet moves from the upcoming recital and lots and lots of flowers. All I can say is that they are the most adorable children ever and their mom has such a great taste in clothes….my child have some of the same outfits. I told you she had good taste:)

Thank you for letting me take your pictures and I hope you like your sneak peak!!

I took my little girl for a walk today and I have to share just one of the ones I got. She’s a serious girl and if she doesn’t want to smile there is nothing I can do to change that….nothing. I tried everything from dancing to singing silly songs, but she refused to smile for me and I tell you I was funny!! I still love this one….it’s just her. I can’t believe how fast she’s growing up and how independent she has became in the past 6 months. Why is time passing so fast? She amazes me everyday with all the new stuff she’s learning. Today she told me I was awesome after helping her getting her blanket that was trapped…awesome…where is she getting this word from?

Anyway, isn’t she cute with her serious face?

I got to hang out with this family tonight to take some pictures for fathers day. It was my first time taking pictures of adult siblings and it was a really great experience. They decided to go downtown to get a more urban feel and they were open for trying anything. I love fun families like that!!! Here’s a sneak peak of some of the pictures I like that I think shows of how much they love each other and what a fun time we had together.

The family….

I can’t believe just a little while ago I took their maternity and then very recently newborn pictures. He has already changed since I saw him a few weeks ago and he is still just as beautiful as the first time I saw him.

Got one of the brothers too.

Isn’t she just the cutest little thing?

This one is one of my favorites as well.

I love the happiness in this picture…LOVE IT.

I still love motion shots so I had to try it tonight too.

Looks good in B&w too.

We have had beautiful weather and sunsets here lately and as a photographer who loves warm backlight photographs it’s almost too hard not to capture this. I think my little girl is the most “beautiful girl in the world” and she looks like a while angel at times so she’s my perfect subject to capture this warm light. Being only 2 she has a mind of her own and sometimes…most often…she does not want me to take her picture. Luckily yesterday she decided that we could take some pictures while having fun. I had to run so hard and do so much tickling to get there, but it was so worth it in the end. I can’t stop thinking about all the happiness and laughter she brings to my husband and I. I can’t even describe how much she means to me.
Isn’t she beautiful with her big, wild, curly hair?
