{In Norway and feeling happy} Kopervik, haugesund, Stavanger barne fotograf

I know I’ve not updated my blog in forever, but I’ve got a good reason for it. We, the whole family, has moved…all the way From Birmingham, Alabama, Usa to Kopervik, Norway where I’m from. It’s been a few crazy months with planning, packing, shipping all our stuff, saying goodbye to our awesome friends in the USA, saying hello to our Norwegian friends, looking for new jobs, getting Sofia into a new daycare, dealing with immigration, getting used to our new life and still missing our old one a little and a whole lot of other stuff.

We are still looking for a place to live and until that’s settled all of our stuff is in storage….that includes most of my photography equipment, my computer, my hard drives and even my cord/card reader to get pictures off my camera. I really didn’t think my things would be in storage for so long and if I would have known I would have made sure I had emailed myself files from the rest of my fall sessions…what was I thinking:)

Since coming to Norway I’ve taken a total of 20 pictures…yes, only 20 pictures in 3 months…I’m so disappointed in myself. I’ve missed so many great moments in our life and I hate that. I’ve decided to get back on track and take more pictures again. I’ve just ordered a card reader so I can get my pictures off my camera….it’s a start:)
Anyway, here are the last pictures I took of Sofia while in Birmingham. She was so happy then and she’s just as happy now. I smile when I look at these….she’s just such an amazing little girl.

{Someone turned 1} Birmingham, Alabama child photographer

Mia turned 1 this month and I can’t believe how fast this past year went. This is the 3rd time she’s on the blog and she’s just as cute as always. Her mom had really planned out this session…awesome rocking chair, balloons, basket, letters, balls and even snacks. You should think it would be super easy, but it was not….yep, I said it, it was such a hard session:) Mia has just learned to walk and she wanted nothing to do with us….nothing. Her mom and I worked so hard for every single picture…singing, dancing, running around, putting her back in place, following her, being funny, and so on, but she really didn’t think we were funny at all. All she wanted to do was to look down so she could run and explore. I really can’t blame her….downtown is such a fun place to visit. Luckily our hard work payed of and we ended up with lots of adorable shots of her. I can’t get over how crazy blue her eyes are either. She’s such a beautiful little girl!!

Thank you Heather for working so hard during the session:)

{I’m 4} Birmingham, Alabama child photographer

Sofia turned 4 just a few weeks ago and I had not gotten around to do her birthday pictures yet. Last year I did her with balloons and this year I wanted to capture her doing something she loves to do…paint:) She’s in love with finger paint and it makes her happy every time she gets to do it. I don’t have a studio and I’m all natural light so things like this is always a little harder to pull of then. Luckily I have garage doors and I just went to the local photography store and bought a 53 inch roll of white paper and taped it to the garage door and rolled it out until the ground was covered as well. Two strips fit perfectly. We had finger paint already at home and I let her do whatever she wanted to. It wasn’t long until she started painting on her self as well. I think that was her favorite part. She as so cute while doing it…singing, dancing and laughing. Everyone that was driving by was staring at us, but she didn’t care:) I think these turned out perfect. So much more fun than if I just dressed her up in a nice dress and took her somewhere for pictures…I just love seeing her have fun. She makes me smile and I’m totally head over heels in love with her:)

{2 cuties} Birmingham, Alabama child photographer

I got to see these two again this weekend and I can’t believe how big and grown up they both look. He just turned 1 and she’s 4.5….I just love seeing my clients grow up in front of my camera. They both are so so so cute and they have such adorable personalities. It’s funny how sessions turn out sometimes. Their mom and I had all these plans of things we wanted to do during the session, but the kids didn’t want to participate in all the clothing changes and location changes we had planned out. The awesome thing is that they gave us about 30 minutes where they both were just awesome and really that’s all we needed. They both gave such an array of expressions and I can’t wait to finish up the session.

Aren’t’ they cute?

I just love how she’s biting her lip in this one…it just makes her look so grown up.
